New Legal Services Website

by , on Jun 30, 2021 02:20:08 PM

The Legal Services branch of the justiceservices website has been transferred to a new website legislation.mt. The current justiceservices website will be phased out and will no longer be updated as of 1st May 2020, thus users are encouraged to start using the new website.

Through the new website’s interface, users may search for legislation using chapter numbers or the chapter title, as well as keywords from the title or content of the chapter. One can also apply filters to specifically search for consolidated laws, acts, bye-laws or legal notices. Furthermore, the website features sections on latest updates providing a summary of recently published or amended legislation, as well as a section on FAQs.

The legislation.mt website is built on the European Legislation Identifier (ELI) system which allows legislation to be provided in a standardized format so that it can be accessed, exchanged and reused across borders. Responsive web design has also been implemented which enables the website to resize and adjust according to screen size and platform thus the new website can be used on a wide array of devices. Further developments will also be undertaken to improve, for example, the linking of related documents through the implementation of semantic web technologies.
