Maila is currently reading for a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree at the University of Malta and shall be graduating in 2024, where afterwards she shall embark for a Master of Advocacy degree. Throughout her first year course of studies, Maila was awarded first place within an essay competition concerning Euthanasia, organised by the student organisation ELSA. She as well participated within a number of publications, including Human Rights in the Age of Advanced Digital Technologies, and Court Delays. 

Maila is currently undergoing an internship with Novolegal where she has taken up a number of assignments entailing various branches of law, including corporate and civil law, immigration, and finance. Her key interests include Civil and Criminal law, amongst others.
