The Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (‘FIAU’) has issued a notice to Subject Persons on the 16^th March 2020 regarding measures taken in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The REQ deadline has been extended from the 1^st April 2020 to 4^th May 2020 at 17:00 hours. Thus, the late submission penalty of €100 which was to be imposed on Subject Persons for late submissions between 1^st April 2020 and 4^th May 2020 is no longer applicable. However, administrative penalties may be imposed on Subject Persons for REQ submissions after the 4^th May 2020 deadline.

Subject Persons are advised to refrain from contacting the FIAU by telephone, and instead forward any queries by email to:

• [email protected] for queries on the REQ and Caspar;
• [email protected] for technical queries related to AML/CFT; and
• [email protected] for general queries related to the FIAU.

The FIAU is also advising Subject Persons to refrain from visiting its offices unless a meeting has been scheduled. The official notice may be accessed here.
